It’s a pleasure and luxury to spend a substantial amount of time wherever you travel, but I’m also a big believer in enjoying short visits as well. 

 

 

Here’s a fantasy 3 day itinerary:

 

Arrival

Check into your cottage at San Ysidro Ranch.

Settle in and take a walk around the property, explore the buildings, wander the gardens, and head up to the pool for a dip perhaps.

If you are more adventurous, ask about the local hikes adjacent to the property.

Enjoy cocktails on the property (many options) followed by dinner downstairs off of Plow and Angel, on the patio.

 

Day 1

Rise and shine enjoy your coffee and tea on sight.

Rub elbows with the regulars at breakfast just down the way at SY Pharmacy. 

Wander through William Lamen, Country House Antiques and Julienne.

Take a meandering drive from their east on East Valley to Ladera Lane

Visit Vedenta temple enjoy the silence of the sanctuary, take in the view, visit the book store.

Drive back on East Valley, have lunch at Pierre Lafond Wine Bistro and enjoy all the great shopping there.

Enjoy tour of Casa del Herrero or Lotus land

Head for a light super at El Encanto

Walk across street to Riveria theatre for a film

Go to Mission Street Ice cream for the best ice cream near and far

Head back to Montecito and have a night cap at the ranch

 

Day 2

Have breakfast at SY Ranch
