Flora and Fauna in Turkey
Flora shot in Ephesus, Turkey
From Kimberly
This looks like a classic California landscape, does it not?  The white frills of Queen Anne’s Lace, the graceful olives, the golden grasses.  In fact, much of the flora we consider ubiquitous is native to the Mediterranean.  This shot was taken in the hills surrounding Ephesus en route to a charming, ancient village called Şirince on the Agean coast of Turkey.  Enjoy amazing tales of how and why we have the great array of flowers and plants we do via The Plant Hunters by Carolyn Fry with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, England.
