From Kim:

The photo above and left were taken at Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech. This stunning garden is a true oasis in this ochre city, filled with magnificent cactus, palms, water features and cubist architecture. The property was created by Jacques Majorelle, a French artist who moved to Morocco and pursued his true passion; painting. In 1917 he purchased the property, built an artist studio and began the gardens that were an expression of his other passion; botany. Eventually Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge bought the property and beautifully restored it and also created a magnificent museum for their collection of Berber Artwork. Closer to home, a visit to Lotus Land is like going on an exotic holiday, with many luxuriant gardens. Ganna Walska and Jacques Majorelle seem much like kindred spirits.
Be Jeweled This Summer!

U.S. Botanical Gardens (Washington, D.C.)
From kim: Not many people know that one of the most splendid U. S. Botanical Gardens in our nation is adjacent to the U.S. Capital and is the vision of our first President, George Washington! Established by congress in 1820, the Conservatory that currently houses this living plant museum was built in 1933. There are two courtyard gardens and 10 garden rooms under glass with numerous themes such as Jungle, World Desserts, Rare & Endangered Plants, and Orchids to mention only several. The displays of the plants and trees are extraordinary; a wonderful diversion amidst it's glorious Smithsonian Museum neighbors.
Our Riviera Tote is Back!

Pierre Bonnard
"The Riviera" circa 1923
From Kim:
This dreamy French landscape painting by Pierre Bonnard resides in the permanent collection of The Phillips Collection at 20th & R in Washington, D.C. Years ago I lived a block away and enjoyed the intimacy of this private museum founded by Duncan Phillips (no relation) in 1921. Besides an impressive permanent collection, there are wonderful shows, currently, a phenomenal exhibit on Braque. In addition to fine art, music is celebrated with a Sunday Concert program - going strong since 1941.
MK Products Featured in Architectural Digest!

From Kim:

As mentioned in the Architectural Digest article noted above, fashion entrepreneurs Vince & Louise Camuto are founders of the Vince Camuto line of clothing and accessories. Quite by coincidence, a favorite go-to piece in my wardrobe and something I always reach for and pack on my travels is this sleeveless silk top. It's lovely on its own, it's great under a jacket. It has a snappy gold zipper up the back which I like because it's unexpected.
